While there are a variety of cultures and different types of food in Luxembourg, the food native to this country is a must-try! Expats and visitors to Luxembourg have to be sure to try some traditional Luxembourgish cuisine.

Pick 1- Restaurant Um Dierfgen

Located in the heart of Luxembourg City, our first pick is Restaurant Um Dierfgen. This traditional Luxembourgish restaurant prides itself on using locally sources food and vegetables grown here in Luxembourg. With a friendly staff, up-scale atmosphere, and a wonderful menu selection, you cannot go wrong dining at Um Dierfgen! To book a table, please contact the restaurant via phone.

Pick 2- Mousel’s Cantine

Located in the Grund region of Luxembourg City, Mousel’s Cantine is a traditional French restaurant which also specializes in Luxembourgish cuisine. Traditional Luxembourgish dishes such as grilled pork knuckle, sauerkraut, and stuffed pig’s trotters braised in beer are staples at La Mousel’s Cantine. To make reservations at this location, you must call ahead via phone.

Pick 3- Am Tiirmschen

Located inside a renovated medieval building, Am Tiirmschen is a French and Luxembourgish restaurant serving traditional dishes such as Kniddelen, smoked pork neck, and Wine Sausage. It is recommended to make a reservation prior to arriving at the restaurant, as the restaurant is usually busy most operating nights. If you find yourself dreaming about eating kniddelen in a renovated medieval building, you can make a reservation via phone!

Pick 4- Bistro Le Duc

Open for lunch, dinner, and occasionally brunch, Bistro Le Duc is one of our favorite Luxembourgish restaurants! Although each is not very extensive, this spot offers a different experience by having different menus for each meal time. Pick 5- Briderler Stuff

Located just north of Luxembourg City in the town of Bridel, lies Briderler Stuff. This spot is one of our top picks due to the rich Luxembourgish history behind the restaurant, the amazing food, diligent staff, and the wide variety of traditional Luxembourgish meals offered on their menu. Pick 6- Gudde Maufel

A modern and contemporary restaurant, Gudde Maufel prides itself on its traditional Luxembourgish meals, constantly changing menu based on the season, quaint location, and beautiful outdoor terrace. Whether you are looking for a place to eat or a place to stay, PĂ©itche Lauer has it all! Doubling as a restaurant and hotel getaway in Western Luxembourg, this pick is truly one of a kind. The restaurant is run by Chef Raoul and his dedicated team, where they work together to curate some of the best seasonal menu’s Luxembourg has to offer!
