Alain’s Beach

This is a great beach to explore if you just want to run around or maybe try some swimming (if it’s warm enough)! You’ll find Alain’s Beach in Liefrange, just outside of the town where the rivers Dirbech and Sûre connect.

Château Esch-Sur-Sûre

A lot of the town is built on castle ruins. This is another great castle to explore in Luxembourg to learn more about the history of the area! At night the castle is beautifully lit up and is definitely worth a visit. Guided tours are available.

Tourist Center – Cloth Factory and small museum

The tourist office is also home to the old cloth factory. In Esch-sur-Sûre, a weaving guild already existed in the 16^th century, so that the origin of the factory goes hand-in-hand with the invention of the first wool machines. You can discover carefully restored machines and even see them in action during guide tours (which are available on request).

Since the Old Cloth Factory also doubles as the Tourist Office, you can also talk to experts to learn more about what to see and do in Sûre as well as shop the boutique products for a souvenir or 2! They sell exclusive wool fabrics that are again today produced on the Museum’s machines. What a cool gift or addition to your home.

Solar Boat

All aboard the Princesse Alexandra! This is a solar powered boat tour that begins in Insenborn. Along the ride you will see breathtaking views and participate in a nature hike appropriate for families. The solar boat is a great way to see one of the beautiful lakes in Sûre. Boat trips along the reservoir can be reserved for up to 10 people during Covid (normally it’s 23) and are a great activity for families or friends.

Upper Sûre National Park– Circular Walks

There are so many beautiful sites to see and areas to explore in this park. There are multiple hiking trails, lakes and paths to wander. You can also download NATURPARK-App to help you discover the park! There are 2 great hikes one starts near the Sûre bridge at the rue de Kaundorf in Esch-sur-Sûre and the other at the beginning of the tunnel in Esch-sur-Sûre.
