With the weather (somewhat) getting warmer, a lot of us are itching to get outside. Here are some tips to stay active and healthy this summer!
1. Go for a hike!
Luxembourg is full of hiking trails—whether you’re a newbie or very experienced, there’s a trail for you! These trails are all accessible by public transportation and are a great way to get some fresh air. You can pack a picnic and have lunch with a view! Hikes are also fun activities for families. Just make sure you bring an umbrella or a rain jacket!
2. Enjoy one of Luxembourg’s 208 Circular Walks
If hiking isn’t your thing, you can still get some fresh air by going for walks! Luxembourg City has a lot of beautiful parks, and you can find circular walks all over the country. We really enjoy the walks in Esch-sur-Alzette and Lamadelaine.
3. Soak in the sun on a terrace!
You can enjoy the nice weather and eat some healthy food at the same time! Luxembourg City has several healthy restaurants—check out some of our favourite vegan places here! Eating at local restaurants is also a great way to support small businesses.
4. Fire up the BBQ and enjoy discounts on healthy food!
The warmer weather has us craving food that is typically in season during the summer months, including squash, tomatoes, melons, and berries. Why not pick some of these up and cook a nice summer-themed meal for yourself? Many of these foods have a lot of health benefits as well.
We just learned about Delhaize’s new SuperPlus program to get some discounts on these healthy foods. The SuperPlus program provides users with discounts on foods with a Nutri-Score of “A” or “B”. This allows customers to save upwards of 15% on over 5,000 foods! Bonus: the more customers who use Delhaize and its SuperPlus program, the more these discounts will increase. We absolutely LOVE this! And no, we weren’t paid to say that. We just love the idea of being rewarded for healthy choices!
Also don’t forget to hit up the farmers markets for fresh and local produce! What’s healthier than that?!
