Are you interested in getting a local’s perspective of Luxembourg and exploring new parts of the country? Or, do you have a lot of knowledge about Luxembourg that you’re just dying to share? Then Guide for One Day is for you!
This summer, from June 26th to September 12th you can sign up to participate in the programme as a tour guide or as a visitor!
Guide for One Day is an initiative that aims to bring communities together through guided tours. It operates entirely independent of tourist offices—guides are locals who volunteer to lead tours that they organize themselves. In other words, they are all extremely passionate about certain places or topics in Luxembourg and want to share their passion with others! No prior experience is required, but it is recommended that guides be hospitable and knowledgeable. If you’re interested in becoming a guide, click here for more information!
You can also participate in Guide for One Day as a visitor. This option is perfect for people who are new to Luxembourg, or for people who simply want to learn more about their home! It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people and visit places you otherwise may not have.
One example of a tour this year is a biking trip with Mike McQuaide, also known as “An American in Luxembourg”. Participants will join McQuaide as he shows off his favorite sites in Luxembourg, while getting some fresh air and great exercise in the process! For more information on participating as a visitor or to learn about other tours, click here.
Tours are available in multiple languages, and some allow children to join as well. Guides are encouraged to register as soon as possible, while registration for visitors starts on June 6 and ends two days before the tour’s scheduled date. This is certainly going to be a great way to learn more about Luxembourg, and we encourage everyone to get involved!
