Pets in the City: Dog Friendly Activities

by Brynn Pierce

We aren’t the only ones feeling cooped up with strict Corona guidelines. Our dogs also need lots of exercise, fresh air and play time. As requested by one of our readers, here are our suggested hikes and activities for keeping your canine busy in the city.

Pick 1- Escher Hondsveräin

Located in Esch-sur-Alzette, this company organizes dog walks, training and different events for dogs and their owners. This is the perfect place to check out if you think your dog could use some play time or you just got a new puppy and need to get them trained!

Pick 2- Dog Parks in the City

If you live in the city and feel like your dog needs more space to run around, this website maps all of the best places in the city where your dog can run free. The dog areas and parks have gates and bags for your convenience.

Pick 3- Mullerthal Region

Much of the Mullerthal region is dog friendly. This area is ideal for hot days because the dogs can cool off in the water. It is asked that you keep your dog on a leash!

Pick 4- Biodiversum Camille Gira à Remerschen

This beautiful nature reserve allows you to explore different trails around ponds and in the woods. The biodiversum is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm and you can bring your fury friends! Check out our TikTok, featuring our very own Amanda Roberts’ dog, on this awesome hike!

Pick 5- Other Hikes

For all hike lovers, AllTrails is a great resource. This website highlights different kinds of hikes all around the world. Specifically in Luxembourg you can filter the search to make sure you can bring your dog and find the hike closest to you!
