Nature has been treating us with a lot of rain this week. You might be thinking about how you can have fun with your family in this rainy weather. The great news is that some of the nice indoor places for families have reopened in Luxembourg. Just take into consideration the current situation and the safety measures in place- most indoor places would require an advance booking online. Here are TravelmatKanner’s top 6 family activities for this weekend.

And if we are lucky with the weather, we have two extra outdoor choices for you:

5. Wolf Park in Merzig, Saarland

Wolf Park is located in a beautiful forest in Merzig, Saarland approximately a 40 min drive from the Luxembourg border into Germany.  The owners of the park come in direct contact with the wolves and can explain a lot about these magnificent animals. The howling of the wolves will fascinate everyone- especially the children – it is just an unforgettable experience.

The entrance is free of charge and if you wish, you can contribute a small amount for the well-being of the wolves. By the entrance, a small bistro and toilettes are part of the park if needed. In addition, in the centre of Merzig there is a small animal park where you can get animal food to feed the animals like goats, alpaca, cows, birds and rabbits. There is also a very beautiful lake to stroll along and a playground that is ideal for small children.

You can experience wildlife and feed the animals. You can either book a guided tour or discover the wildlife park on your own. The park is open from 9am to 4pm this weekend (but you can leave the park by 5pm).
