Remich (Moselle)

Insenborn (Upper Sûre)

Something we love about this tour is that the boat you’ll be on is solar powered! This makes this activity incredibly environmentally friendly. Plus, it’s just really cool! You’ll get to set sail on Luxembourg’s largest drinking water reservoir and learn about the nearby nature. You’ll also get to explore the Burfelt forest on foot. The hike is about 8 kilometers, which makes the whole experience about 3-4 hours in total. Spaces are limited, so if you’re interested, you should reserve your spot online! Prices are €10 for adults and €5 for children.

Éislek (Upper Sûre)

There are plenty of other ways to enjoy the lakes near Insenborn as well! The Éislek region has several bathing spots on the Upper Sûre lake that are particularly nice during the summer months! In Lultzhausen, for instance, you can take a floating bridge to Liefrange! And the nearby Weiswampach Lake offers spots for fishing (in the upper lake) and swimming (in the lower lake). Also, dogs are generally not allowed in the lakes or the surrounding area.

Remerschen (Baggerweier)

The Baggerweier lakes formed in the 1950s and 60s when the sand pits filled with water from underground reservoirs. Now, they’re lakes where you can enjoy things like swimming and fishing. For swimming, the lake is open until September 15, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. (The cash desk closes at 5:30 PM.) Entry is €5 per person and free for children under 10. For fishing, the lake is open from 7:30 AM until 7:00 PM, with the cash desk closing at 5:00 PM. Something to keep in mind is that fishing here is strictly no-kill. Entry is €10 for the day, and you can rent rods and nets for €5.

Grevenmacher (Moselle)

Here’s another opportunity for you to explore the Moselle! The MS “Princesse Marie-Astrid” will take you through the history of the Moselle river while providing you with delicious food and beautiful sights. Board the boat on Sunday for a lovely lunch, or explore nearby Saarburg from a new perspective, or simply soak in all the beautiful sights the Moselle has to offer. Tickets for these trips are €18 for adults, and €9 if you’re going between Schengen and Trier! You can also rent boats yourself; prices are available upon request.
