This week ARA City Radio announced that beloved host Sam Steen of the Breakfast Show is leaving after 12 years of hosting the early morning broadcast, and that Tom Clarke will take his place. Tom will join newsreaders Simon Claridge and Jazmin Campbell. Lisa McLean, coordinator of the international programs on Radio ARA, stated that, “We all look forward to fresh new music and vibes on the morning airwaves, and I am confident Simon and Jazmin will help him get the hang of the early mornings.”

Tom, having grown up in Luxembourg, is no stranger to Radio ARA; he made his debut on the youth graffiti show over 12 years ago with his show “The Meltdown”. On graduating from school in Luxembourg Tom attended Glasgow University, where he quickly became involved in a dynamic music scene. His exposure to music led him to work as a concert programmer, which subsequently inspired him to begin producing and DJing himself. Tom’s music has brought him all around the world, touring the USA and Europe as a DJ and performing live whilst producing shows for radio stations such as NTS, Rinse FM, Red Light Radio, Dublab, The Lot Radio, Mutant Radio, and more.

Fluent in English and French, Tom hopes to bring his own unique style to the show while simultaneously catering to the listener and staying true to what makes the Breakfast Show the show it is. When asked about his plans for the show, he stated, “I want to bring my own style to the show, as there are so many great features, but I have so many new ideas. I am looking forward to discovering with the listeners what works and what their preferences are. I am also excited about the growth I’ve witnessed in the Luxembourg music scene, so I am looking forward to connecting with many of the musicians here as well as tapping into my international network of musicians for interviews.”

You can catch the Breakfast Show with Tom Clarke and the team beginning November 29th, Monday to Friday from 6:30 to 9:30am. The Radio ARA network can be found on 102.9, 105.2FM, or online at aracityradio.com.
