This is one of our favourite shops all year round for gift giving and Christmas time is no exception. “Modu” means “All/Everyone” in Korean, and the shop was created with the belief that we are all connected; that even through the act of a purchase, we can help make a positive difference in our environment. Amy the super kind and amazing owner chooses curated brands from all the world. You can feel good about every purchase you make because the fashion, accessories, home and lifestyle pieces all share the same ethos of making a positive impact environmentally and/or socially!

We discovered these handmade earrings on Instagram and were immediately intrigued as the designs looked so beautiful. We ordered a pair and they arrived just a few days later as gorgeous in person as they were online. They came wrapped up really nicely with a personalised note. They are a really great quality and I receive numerous compliments on the earrings every day that I wear them. There are a lot of styles to choose from. We think these make a perfect gift for a good friend, sister or colleague!

If you are searching for a cute and creative gift then check out her beautiful holiday postcards, gift labels and prints at Studio Blomst.
For the bookworm
Books from an independent bookstore
Like almost everyone we love the convenience of Amazon, but there’s something much more special about heading to the local bookshop to flip through the pages of the books, read a few lines and chat with the staff about what they’re reading at the moment and what they think you absolutely must read! We love Librairie Alinea, Librairie Diderich and Ernster’s All English Book Store. Plus you can pick up a copy of our sister publication LUX WMN which we also think makes an empowering and awesome gift!
Health & Beauty

For the Foodie
Back in the 1900’s the Biscuiterie, number 101A avenue du X Septembre was a local biscuit production owned by Mr Henry Schneider. Today, the Biscuiterie is a gathering place for the locals of Belair. It’s a place where you’ll find the tasting of local products, art expositions, small conferences, coffee to go for dog walkers on their way to the park in the morning and much more. However, to remember the history and maintain the tradition that this building once meant for the Belair quartier Goeres Hotels have more recently started their own little biscuit production and named them P’tit Belair. These delicious treats make a great Christmas gift for your friend with a sweet tooth or for a family present. They come beautifully packaged so no need for additional wrapping.
We love that the cookies are produced and packaged by the company ”Best of Luxembourg” which has the purpose of promoting and producing local Luxembourgish products. You can get your hands on these gorgeous and delicious treats at the Biscuiterie, The Gelle Klack at the Feschmaart and also the Chalet du Belair (outside of the Hotel Parc Belair).
As some of you may know Differdange is our hood, and we were super excited to learn that we could get some awesome Christmas shopping done on our lunch break! On November 14th, the Volio popup shop opened its doors in Differdange. Volio was founded by Alice Tiberio in January 2011 with the goal of creating a bridge between her family’s home grown gourmet products at their orchard in Rimini Italy and her current home in Luxembourg.
If you have a foodie on your Christmas list, Volio is your shop! They offer Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Infused Oils (think lemon, chili pepper, herbs and spices), strawberry jam and tomato sauce all coming directly from the family farm. They make gorgeous gift baskets for the holidays or you can stock your own shelves with these incredible products.
We love The Happy Guts Company’s products year round, but we just discovered their Christmas box and are a tad bit obsessed. The box contains locally crafted Christmas candles by (@the_luxembourg_chandler), a bottle of 3 year old kombucha vinegar perfect for salad dressings, sweet shallot and chillies relishes that you can use in dips or to spice up a favourite dish, digestive tea with herbs grown by @botanika.lu, kimchi, sauerkrauts and kombucha or kefir. 100% made in Luxembourg! You can pick up the box and at all other THGC goodies at their popup shop in Strassen (32 Rue L’industrie) on Saturdays from 11am-5pm!
If your friends and family love Japanese food as much as us, Manzuko’s fresh ramen noodles and stunning ramen bowls would make an incredible gift! The noodles are handmade and are available in three flavour combinations, matching the best noodles with the corresponding broth from the same region of Japan. From the north in Hokkaido, thick chewy Sapporo noodles with a robust, spicy Miso broth; from central Honshu, wholesome Tokyo egg noodles with a light, more delicate soy sauce-based Shoyu broth; and from the west in Kyushu, firm thin Hakata noodles with a creamy Tonkotsu-like ‘unami’ broth; all delicious, hearty combinations and all vegetarian, including one vegan.
They stock a variety of bowls, spoons and beverages which gives you the ultimate opportunity to create a one of kind, yummy and thoughtful gift.
Anne’s Kitchen “Flavours of Home” & Anne’s Wine
Local Luxembourgish TV chef Anne Faber of Anne’s Kitchen has just released a new book “Flavours of Home” and we love it! This is a cookbook you can turn to for every occasion! Anne takes ingredients we are most likely to find in our kitchens and turns them into 65 easy-going recipes that will become friends for life. She also has her own wine and the recipes go fantastically well with it (tried and tested over here). You can snag a bottle of her wine here and you can buy all her cookbooks directly from the Anne’s Kitchen website.
