Lorentzweiler (9 km – Auto Pedestre)
Start near the railway station in Lorentzweiler (lux. Luerenzweiler) and leave the valley of the river Alzette on a moderate but long ascent. On your way, enjoy the pleasant view over the valley before continuing over farmland. Then, enter the forest and take a sheer climb before arriving in Blaschette (lux. Blaaschent). Cross the village and get back into the forest.
After a 2 km walk through the woods, you will reach a viewpoint called Faute(l)fiels. On the sandstone platform, 150 m above river level, enjoy a great panoramic experience. Beneath the platform, take a look at the tiny chapel carved into the rock. Before its use as a place of worship during the French Revolution, when religious activities were prohibited, this cavern sheltered nomads and charcoal burners working in the woods. After that, stroll downhill and get back to the starting point.
