1. Bridget Jones’s Diary
We think this movie is one of the best Christmas romantic comedies out there. Who doesn’t love Bridget Jones, single in her 30s, working for a publishing company and constantly fantasising about her boss?! Bridget Jones’s hilarious happening along with the love triangle between Bridget, her boss Daniel, and her childhood friend Mark create the perfect recipe for a modern romantic fairy-tale in a sarcastic coat.

2. Love Actually
Love Actually is a one-of-a-kind heartwarming movie. The fantastic cast paired with numerous touching storylines make this movie a must-see. Director Richard Curtis does a great job of depicting the most common life challenges and how their feelings around these events are even more intense during Christmas time. Loneliness, cheating, children’s love, secret admiration, grief and romantic love are somehow all tackled and woven together in a seamless fashion.

3. The Holiday
The story follows two heartbroken women Iris, a columnist from London, and Amanda, a movie trailer producer from Los Angeles. Iris, heartbroken by the wedding announcement of her ex-boyfriend decides to register at a home swap website where she meets Amanda, let down by her cheating boyfriend. They both feel a need for a change of environment so they agree to switch houses for two weeks starting the next day. After arrival, both Iris and Amanda find the last thing either wants or expects: a new romance. This movie is funny, charming and heartwarming.

1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey is amazing as the onion-breath foul Grinch who decides to steal Christmas. There are some fantastic one-liners and great slapstick comedy for the kids. Plus who can resist a Dr Seuss story narrated in rhyme by a dog?!

2. Home Alone
Spoiled brat Kevin (played by Macaulay Culkin) is accidentally left behind by his family at Christmas. While they try to get back from Paris, Kevin comes up with an ingenious plan to foil a pair of burglars eyeing up the house. Joe Pesci takes a break from being a mafia baddie to be a small time crook. Kids definitely rule in this film.

1. Miracle on 34th Street
Be it the old or the new version, you can’t beat a courtroom drama that centres on whether or not a department store Santa is the real deal. Santa’s lawyer wins with fantastic logic, but we won’t ruin the ending.

2. A Christmas Story
A classic Christmas story set in the 1940s narrated by the adult Ralphie reminiscing on one particular Christmas when he was nine years old. This movie is weird in the best way, and we don’t let a holiday season come and go without watching it at least once.
Ralphie has just one Christmas wish: a Red Ryder BB gun from Santa. But his idea is rejected by his mom, teacher and even the department store Santa Claus who are sure he’ll shoot his eye out. Seriously, if you haven’t seen it, get watching and if you have, you probably don’t need convincing!

A Christmas sequel to “Bad Moms” following three moms Amy, Kiki and Carla dealing with their own mothers visiting during the Christmas holiday. A funny and original Christmas theme about daughters and mothers’ relationship. Watch Bad Moms’ take on creating the perfect holiday while dealing with their own moms.

2. Bad Santa
Professional Santa Willie and his elf partner Marcus get themselves hired in department stores in order to rob them. Willie is not the happiest Santa and doesn’t have the best “kid” skills. Everything changes when Willie is visited by 8-year-old Thurman. Bad Santa is absolutely hilarious and offers a needed contrast from the typical holiday uplift. Definitely for adults.

Die Hard
If you crave some action for Christmas it has to be Die Hard starring Bruce Willis. NYPD detective John McClane arrives in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve with hopes to reconcile with his estranged wife Holly. John finds himself in a tower taken hostage by a team of terrorists…oh yeah and did we mention, Holly is one of the hostages.
