Whether you’re in the mood for a nice and relaxing game of golf or a competitive afternoon spent whacking a ball out of a sand trap, Luxembourg has the course for you! It has 5 different courses located not too far from each other and several mini-golf courses scattered around the country. The courses have holes ranging from Par 3 to Par 5, and some of them also offer club rental. Here are a few picks to get you started!
Up in the Parc Thermal of Mondorf-les-Bains is a beautiful golf course and pedal boats for two to four people. The golf course takes about 90 minutes to play, and the pedal boat path is about 30 minutes! The course is open from Easter through October 17 and closed every Monday or when there’s bad weather. Its hours are 2:00 PM 6:00 PM, and you can reserve it for things like birthdays and business outings! Admission is €3 for children up to age 12 and €4 for ages 13 and up. If you’re interested in taking a pedal boat, prices are €6 for two people, €7 for three people, and €8 for four people. It’s free with a Luxembourg Card! The golf course has 18 holes, and you can rent equipment on-site.
This golf course is tucked away in Clervaux and surrounded by some beautiful landscapes! Even if you don’t play golf, it’s worth paying the course a visit just for the views. The course is 18 holes with different starting points depending on your skill level and how intense you want your game to be. There’s also a practice course with three short holes and a putting green! You can rent golf carts as well, and you’ll have access to the clubhouse, hotel, restaurant, bar, and pro-shop.
If you’re not a serious golfer, this course may not be for you, as you need to become a member of the Golf Club Clervaux in order to have access to the entire course. Becoming a member involves attending introductory sessions and passing a test on the compact course, so if you’re looking to significantly improve your golf skills, this might be the place for you! This course is located in Junglinster, just 17 kilometers away from Luxembourg City! It’s got 18 holes and training installations including targets, chipping, and putting greens. There are several natural obstacles as well, like lakes, humid areas, and a stream. Not only do these present fun challenges on the course, but they also make the landscape look beautiful! Entrance fees depend on things like the specific day you go (they’re lower during the week!), how many holes you play, and what kind of equipment you want to rent. Generally, though, they’re anywhere between €31 and €110. Additionally, juniors (people under age 21) get in with a 50% discount! If you’re looking to improve your golf skills, you can take a lesson for beginners for €45-€60. The course also has a restaurant that’s open to the public.
Whether you’re an experienced golfer or have never picked up a club before, Lux Golf Center in Luxembourg City is your place to go! It’s made of six training zones—a putting green, a driving range, a pitch green, a platform on grass, an approaches area for teaching, and a video studio. Day access with one bucket of balls is €16, a booklet of 10 accesses is €140, an annual subscription is €470, and anyone under age 18 gets in with a 50% discount! Additionally, a bucket of 40 balls is €5 for a visitor and €3 for a subscriber. You can rent equipment as well: one club is €4, three clubs are €8, and 1/2 even or odd series is €12. Their hours depend on whether it’s high season (May 1 until September 30) or low season (October 1 until April 30). During high season, the course is open Monday from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and Sunday and holidays from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. During low season, the course is open Monday from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and Sunday and holiday from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM.
The Golf Club Grand Ducal is one of Luxembourg’s original golf courses! It’s got a truly fascinating history that you can read about here. It was built in 1935 and isn’t too far from the airport. You’ve got a few options if you want to golf on the course—you can do the entire 18-hole course, or you can do the shortened 6-hole version, or you can practice in one of the 28 different stations, 14 of which have different targets!
During weekends and holidays, the course is only open to members and their guests. Non-members are welcome during the week! Regardless of whether you’re a member or not, however, everyone needs to respect the dress code. Prices for the 18-hole course are €60 for 9 holes and €90 for all 18. The green fee for the 6-hole course is €35, and a half-hour golf lesson is €40. For the driving range and practice balls, prices are €6 for members and €15 for non-members. When you pay your green fee, your ticket must be attached to your golf bag at all times. It’s also important to remember that playing members get priority over non-members!
This is a masters-level course located in the eastern part of the country! Christnach is a small but charming town that’s largely built around the golf course. The course itself has 18 holes, or you can play the shorter 9-hole version. You’ll also have access to a driving range with video control, a golf caddie rental, and a hotel with suites and conference rooms! After your game, you can unwind on the bar, veranda, terrace, or lounge. You can also take golf classes if you want to improve your skills. The green fee varies depending on things like your age and the amount of holes you play, but it’s generally between €32 and €72.
Our last (regular-sized) golf course is over in Canach, not too far from the Moselle region! It’s got a championship 18-hole course and a 4-star hotel. You’ll need a reservation in order to play, but it’s really easy to make one—just give them a call at +352 35 61 35! The course makes up 120 hectares and includes water hazards and bunkers. A fun fact about this course is that it was selected to host the European PGA Challenge Tour for five years in a row (and counting)! In addition, the course’s clubhouse, Eagle Bar, and hotel are open to both members and visitors. Prices for admission are dependent on things like a weekday versus weekend, the number of holes, and whether you’re a member, invited guest, or junior. Prices range from €35 to €120!
