LGBTIQ+ Luxembourg – A List of Resources

by Hannah Sroka

Rosa Lëtzebuerg

Rosa Lëtzebuerg is Luxembourg’s largest LGBTIQ+ organization. It primarily aims to combat discrimination based on things like gender and sexuality, and its ultimate goal is equality for everyone. They also focus on encouraging family acceptance and scientific research related to the LGBTIQ+ community. The website has a ton of useful resources for LGBTIQ individuals looking to get married, adopt a child, or even just pay their taxes. You can also become a member yourself, which gets you invites to their events and discounts at certain places!

CIGALE is an organisation that provides support to individuals questioning their gender and sexuality, or people who simply want to learn more about the LGBTIQ+ community and the issues it faces. CIGALE is recognised by the Ministry of Family Integration and the Greater Region, and they seek to create a safe space for everyone, especially those who are either struggling with coming out or have just come out. They’ve also got some amazing events you can attend!

The Center for Equal Treatment, as its name implies, promotes equal treatment for everyone regardless of sexuality, gender, race, religion, and age. Their website has a lot of useful articles describing what they do, why their work is important, and what you can do to help and get involved. They’ve also got resources about your own rights and what you can do if you’ve experienced discrimination of any kind. The CET is connected to other organizations across Luxembourg and Europe that aim to fight discrimination as well, like Charte de la Diversité Lëtzebuerg and Equinet.

Queer In The World Luxembourg

As a fellow digital publication, we had to shout out Queer In The World! It has guides for LGBT travellers—places to go or places to avoid, for instance. But it’s also really useful for non-LGBT travellers as well, as you may find something to do that you weren’t aware of before! If you’re looking for a nightclub, a place to stay, or LGBT-friendly events, we highly recommend you check out these guides!
