Blind Date-Riccardo & Sophie

by Amanda Roberts

Many of our single friends are often complaining that it’s impossible to find that special someone in Lux. But all that whinging can stop…City Savvy to the Rescue!

In our new feature we’ll be setting up singles across the City on blind dates. We’ll wine and dine them in the hopes that the end result will be love. We just ask two simple things in return: all the juicy details & of course an invite to the nuptials.

First up, Sophie & Riccardo who enjoyed a lovely dinner courtesy of Le Zai Restaurant:

Going into the date, did you have any expectations?

No, not really. To be honest, I went into it with pretty low expectations. I was mostly filled with a mixture of curiosity and fear.

In the end, there was very little difference between my best hope and the reality. Sophie is a beautiful woman, she’s nice to talk with and she’s funny. I managed to be myself because I was comfortable.

First impressions?

That she’s beautiful and that I knew her from somewhere. We finally figured it out, we probably met a couple of years ago at a common friend’s birthday party.

Did the conversation flow?

Yes, there weren’t any silences or awkward moments. We talked about everything: our jobs, our stories, how long we’ve been in Luxembourg, our friends…

Sophie’s best personality trait?

I could tell from just one night, that she’s a really strong woman.

Best physical aspect of Sophie?

Her eyes.

What do you think she thought of you?

I hope something positive; I was on my best behaviour!

Is there anything you would change about the night?

Sophie warned me that wine makes her sleep and it was true. This is my only “complaint”.

Did you go anywhere after dinner?

No, I asked if she needed to go home after dinner and she said yes, so we ended the evening there.

Did you kiss?

I am a gentleman, so I don’t kiss on the first date.

Would you have liked to kiss her?

No, but only because she wasn’t ready for a kiss, and I need a signal from a woman to take that step.

Will you go out again?

We exchanged numbers, so we will see…I hope so!

Blind date at Le Zai, Strassen

Going into the date, did you have any expectations?

No, honestly not. I was just hoping to have some fun. I was mostly anxious to see who it was.

First impressions?

Oh my God he’s Italian. Kidding! My true first impression was that he seemed nice, very open. He seemed like someone easy to communicate with.

Did the conversation flow?

Yes, very well. We talked about our lives, our pasts, how we ended up in Luxembourg. A bit about our previous relationships (not too much though).

Riccardo’s best personality trait?

That’s he’s open and easy to talk to.

Best physical aspect of Riccardo?

He’s fit, he has great arms, good muscles.

What do you think he thought of you?

I think he liked me because we talked quite a long time in the restaurant, and had a nice, easy conversation.

Is there anything you would change about the night?

I would eat less because I was too full; the dinner was delicious. Otherwise there’s nothing to change, it was a great night!

Did you go anywhere after dinner?

No, he asked, but I had to work the next morning so I thought it was better to go home.

Did you kiss?

Would you have liked to kiss?

Not immediately, but I would like to see him again…

Will you go out again?

I hope so.
