With summer vacation quickly approaching, you might be looking for some way to keep the kids busy, active, and outside. Summer camps are a great way to do that! Many of them are back in operation for summer 2022. Here are a few to check out!
These summer camps are designed to help children of all ages learn languages, including French, English, and German! Some are week-long sleep-away camps and others are just for the day. They aim to teach help children develop their language skills while also keeping them engaged with fun activities. They’re offered for kids ages 7-17 and located across Luxembourg (and internationally if your kids are up for an adventure)
This camp is a great way to keep your kids active! They’ll get to play sports like squash and rugby. Sessions run for one week and are offered from July 4th through the 29th, as well as August 1st to September 2nd! This camp is for children ages 3-12, and don’t forget to pack a lunch and snack for your child as they are not provided.
This camp has been going on every summer for 37 years! There are two different versions—a “Mini Sport-Wochen” for children ages 11-12 and a “Sport-Wochen” for children ages 13-17. Sessions can last anywhere from 4 to 7 days, some of which include overnight stays. These camps are held across July, August and the beginning of September. Some are held in Luxembourg, while others are held abroad! Children can participate in rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and even an outdoor ropes course!
Does your child love playing with LEGOs? Are they interested in robotics? This may be their perfect camp! Children will use LEGOs to learn about a lot of different STEM concepts, such as how machines and robots operate. They’ll also be able to flex their creative muscles and build whatever their hearts desire! This camp is open for ages 4-13 and offers day-long or half-day activities.
Calling all football players, this one’s for you! Here, kids can play soccer and learn skills like goalkeeping and dribbling. This is a great way to get some energy out while also learning teamwork and sportsmanship! The camp is for children ages 4-17 and there are specialised camps, including a goalkeeper program.
Offered in English and French, this camp combines physical activity with activities like arts and crafts! It’s located in Bertrange and runs from July 18 until September 1. The session for ages 3-8 focuses on building teamwork and problem-solving skills. Children will need to work together to complete a quest every day! The session for ages 6-12 focuses on basic gymnastics, where children will learn things like cartwheels and backbends!
This camp is perfect for children with a strong interest in theater! It’s composed of workshops offered in French and Luxembourgish and is meant for children ages 8-15. They’ll learn about playing characters, reading scripts, and improvising, and they’ll get some great behind-the-scenes experience of putting on shows! The teachers are all Luxembourgish or French actors and actresses.
Scouting
If you’d like your child to gain valuable life skills, stay active and outdoors, develop great habits, and make new friends, check out some scouting groups! It may be a bit late to sign up for this summer, but many groups offer day-long activities that are open to anyone. And you can always get your kids ready for next year! The Robert Schuman Unit is a French-speaking troop, and the Telstar Unit is an English-speaking troop. Happy scouting!
Aller Badminton Club Summer Camp
Aller Sports is running a badminton camp for kids ages 7 and up! The camp is held in Kockelscheuer, and sessions are held every week from July 4th until August 26th! It’s divided into two groups beginners and regulars for children aged 7+. Beginners’ sessions are from 10 AM until 12 PM, and they’ll learn the game’s rules, how to move, how to hold and swing the racket, and how to play! Regulars’ sessions are from 2 PM until 4 PM, and they’re expected to have some prior experience. Here, they’ll learn learn more advanced techniques and tricks!
This camp is great for kids who love sports of all kinds! It runs several times in late July and early August from 9 AM until 5 PM. Here, kids will get introduced to a variety of different sports, including basketball, football, yoga, gymnastics, and martial arts! They’ll also learn exercises to develop things like upper body strength and flexibility. The camp is taught by a mix of coaches, professional athletes, and educators! They are also flexible with their age groups, with three groups of 3-5, 6-9, and 10-12 years old.
Quality Life Time Luxembourg is offering a summer camp for kids ages 5 to 11! It will be held from June 28 until July 16. It’s in English, and there are two different sessions: one offered from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM, and another from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM. Kids from 6-15 years old can get personalised training from Tom Boon’s team coaches over this 5 day field hockey camp. Through a variety of drills, challenges and games, participants will be able to practice all of the techniques used in the sport, including dribbling, passing and receiving, ball control, shooting, defensive tackling, positioning, teamwork and much more! Camp is in French and lunch is not included.
While this isn’t a camp per se, Nordic Stella is a creative Atelier in Luxembourg City where you and your kids can paint you own personalised ceramic. Get your creative kid to paint a wide range of different ceramics with loads of colours to choose from and professional staff to guide with tools and techniques! We highly recommend paying Nordic Stella a visit when your kids are getting antsy at home.

Outside games, sports activities, walks, theatre and much more! Participation is free, but you need to respect the registration deadline! The school holidays activities are aimed at school children living in the City of Luxembourg.
Tennis/multi-sport camps for kids starting from age 5 run by Tennis Spora. Lunch is available on request.
Full day football Camps for boys and girls close the ISL campus. Lunch is available on request. Camps run from July 11th until September 2nd.
Luxembourg Cricket Federation/Academy Juniors will host a 5-day training event from July 19th-23rd with an experienced coach from the UK leading the camp. Open to members and non-members (depending on availability).
Various Camps in Germany (DE & EN)
From theatre to nature discovery to adventure, there is a camp for every kid. Most offerings are in German, but there are also some English language camps to choose from. Camps are for kids aged 6-17 years old. You can find the full list of camps, dates, languages and prices online.
Irish Summer Music School (Reservation required)
This camp takes place in the first week of August and covers Tin Whistle, Singing, Dancing and Drama (Irish mythology). Â The intention is to give children a taste of what would be normally taught in Ireland. Â The classes are streamed by age / experience and the emphasis is on enjoyment. Â The 40 minute classes run from 8.30 to 12.30 with breaks. Â All the students rotate around the subjects.
