The Drauwen- a Wäifest (Grape and Wine Festival) in September is a popular event in the Moselle region, featuring wine tastings, parades, music, and traditional food. What to Try:
White Wines: White wines are the most prevalent in Luxembourg and are often considered the country’s specialty. The main grape varieties used for white wines include:

- Auxerrois: This grape variety is often used to make single-varietal wines or blended with Pinot Blanc. Auxerrois wines are typically full-bodied with fruity flavors and a touch of spice.

Crémant de Luxembourg: This is the most famous Luxembourg wine! Crémant de Luxembourg is the official designation for sparkling wines produced in Luxembourg. It comes in rosé or white and has even won a number of awards for its taste and its creation. It is made using the traditional method and can be crafted from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling, or Auxerrois grapes. Crémant de Luxembourg wines are known for their finesse, freshness, and delicate bubbles.

Bernard Massard is also one of the largest producers of Cremant in the entire country! They have a large variety of options, but Millésimé Brut and Crémant de Luxembourg “Cuvée 1921” are two of their best sellers!
Red Wines: While white wines dominate production, Luxembourg also produces some red wines, primarily from the Pinot Noir grape variety. These red wines can range from light to medium-bodied, with flavors of red fruits, cherry, and sometimes hints of earthiness.

If you are looking for a longer route, you can continue the Moselle river through parts of both France and Germany, as this was the first multi-country wine route in the world!
Wine Bars and Restaurants: Luxembourg City, the capital of Luxembourg, offers a vibrant food and wine scene. You can find wine bars and restaurants that specialize in Luxembourgish wines all over the city. These establishments often have a diverse selection of wines available by the glass or bottle, allowing you to explore different offerings in a relaxed setting. Some notable wine bars in Luxembourg City include Vinoteca, Vins Fins, and Restaurant Chiggeri.
- Located in the Grund neighborhood of Luxembourg City, Vinoteca is a popular wine bar known for its extensive selection of wines. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday and offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine.
- Offering over 20 by the glass and by the bottle options, Vins Fins is the perfect place to relax and indulge in some of the finest wines that Luxembourg has to offer! - Did you know that Luxembourg is home to the place with the world’s largest wine menu? Restaurant Chiggeri is a Guinness World Record holder for the largest wine list, currently offering over 126 different kinds of wine and previously offered 1,746 when the record was first counted. Wine Cellars: Luxembourg City is home to ancient underground wine cellars known as “Caves.” These historic cellars are unique and atmospheric places where you can taste and purchase a variety of wines. The Bernard-Massard Caves are a popular choice for wine tastings and tours. Located at 22, route du Vin L-6794 Grevenmacher and open from Monday to Saturday, these caves are definitely worth exploring!
