Tell us about your 3 Brands

My 3 brands are a reflection of my deep-rooted passion for fashion, empowerment, faith, and craftsmanship.

Shapes & Colors is a quintessential Afrocentric fashion brand that embodies the essence of my African values. Our  impeccably tailored, timeless, and elegant clothing that celebrates the beauty of the human form.

Expanding on the success of Shapes & Colors, we introduced a sister company “MADE Lagos”, a contemporary clothing and lifestyle brand with a faith-based approach to modern fashion. Our designs infuse spirituality and cultural influences, inspiring individuals to embrace their faith while expressing their unique style.

Crafts Boulevard specializes in handmade and personalized items that add a touch of uniqueness to everyday life. From beautifully crafted glassware to custom-designed t-shirts, frames, stickers, and more, we offer a wide range of products that celebrate craftsmanship.

What’s your background? Have you always been a creator?

From a very young age, I had developed a keen eye for sartorial elegance, and I found joy in expressing myself through fashion, earning me the nickname “OnĂfáàrĂ” (pronounced: Oni Faa Ree), which means Fashionista in Yoruba.

Combining my passion for fashion and empowerment, I embarked on a journey to pursue my childhood passion after my University Education by enrolling at London College of Fashion. This propelled me towards a career in Fashion and has helped me  create brands that not only reflect my love for design but also make a positive impact in the world. It’s been an incredible adventure, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to channel my creativity into something meaningful.

How did you decide to take your passion and turn it into a business?

Turning my passion into a business was a natural progression for me. It was driven by the desire to create change and empower others. I saw an opportunity to blend my love for design with my commitment to making a difference in the lives of people, especially vulnerable children . It was a leap of faith, but one that I knew was worth taking. Now, I wake up every day excited to be building an empire while also contributing to social impact initiatives.

What inspires you as a designer?

Oh, the inspiration is endless! I find inspiration from the scriptures.  I find inspiration in the vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and rich cultural heritage of Africa. The resilience and strength of women and children also fuel my creativity. Travelling and experiencing different cultures further inspire me. Above all, knowing that our designs can make someone feel confident and beautiful is incredibly inspiring. It’s like a spark that ignites my passion and drives me to create fashion that celebrates individuality and empowers others.

What advice would you give to another woman wanting to start her own brand?

To any woman wanting to start her own brand, my advice would be to believe in yourself and your vision. Surround yourself with a supportive tribe of mentors, peers, and professionals who can guide, uplift, and inspire you. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and never forget the impact you can make through your brand. Stay true to your values and never stop dreaming big. You’ve got this!
