Warmer temperatures are on our doorstep. Be prepared to get your splash on! We've compiled a list of our favourite outdoor pools/lakes in Luxembourg, so that you're ready to hit the water when all the outdoor swim spots open!

Troisverges Schwimmbad

This place is an outdoor swimming paradise for the whole family. Troisverges boasts a heated outdoor pool with a 45m slide, a dedicated children’s pool, jacuzzi, fountains, playground, tennis, squash and beach volleyball. There are lockers, good showers and a changing table for the baby.

Good for: did we mention the giant YELLOW 45m water slide?! It also has a rad children’s pool.

Alvisse Parc Hotel Pool (Dommeldange)

The only outdoor pool in Luxembourg city commune, this hotel also offers green lawns to lounge around on after your dip, and a restaurant if you get post-swim munchies. Being a hotel, there are a variety of things to do besides swimming; Alvisse Parc boasts tennis courts, massages, ten-pin bowling and a children’s playground – you should be able to find something for everyone!

Good for: a complete experience in the city itself

Les Thermes (Strassen)

Is there anything Les Thermes doesn’t have? Along with the training pool with adjustable depth, an 80m long slide, bubble jet massage and a wave pool, they also have an outdoor place to dip your toes in. If total relaxation isn’t your jam, there is beach volleyball, table tennis and boule can entertain you! And if your hair gets frizzy, never fear, there’s an on-site hairdresser. As the website states, Les Thermes is a lifestyle.

Good for: superior facilities for children and adults

Vianden Outdoor Pool

There’s many reasons to visit beautiful Vianden, but not everyone thinks of it as a place to swim. There’s a heated Olympic-sized pool, with a 6.5m high and 65m long slide and also a baby pool with playground and ice-cream van to boot. It is open from late May to early September and the experience of seeing that fairytale castle every time you pop your head up from the water is not to be missed.

Good for: a pool with a view

Aquasud (Differdange-Obercorn)

Aquasud sets out to impress with outdoor saunas as well as pools and the chance to do serious lengths or to splash around and enjoy. There are even aqua-cycling facilities available if you’re a serious multi-tasker.

Good for: those wanting to sample the newest kid on the swimming block

PiKo – Piscine Kordall (Rodange)

No need to worry if summer in Luxembourg turns on us and is a wash-out, this outdoor pool has a retractable roof! There’s a separate area just for kids with an 80m slide and toddler section, as well as an Olympic-sized swimming pool for real enthusiasts. There’s also plenty of outdoor parking.

Good for: when Luxembourg summer plays tricks on you

C.N.I. Syrdall Schwemm (Niederanven)

Niederanven has top-notch facilities and these extend to their year-round outdoor pool with whirlpools and water features for swimming, relaxing and fun. The water in the outdoor pool is kept at a warming 32 degrees and there’s an outdoor terrace and bistro for a leisurely bite once you’ve worked off all those calories. Their highlight is a 65m covered slide with sound and neon lights. Don’t miss their saunas for some relaxation!

Good for: a psychadelic slide experience

Remich Outdoor Pool

Cited by many as a paradise for adults and children, there’s no denying that there’s a lot going on down Remich swimming way. There’s no less than three outdoor pools, one dedicated for ‘serious’ swimming, one just for fun and games (including water guns and fountains) and a wading pool for tots. It also has a beautifully maintained lawn for civilised sunbathing.  

Good for: multi-purpose open-air pools

Camping Plage (Beaufort)

Come for the camping, stay for the pool! This outdoor pool feels a little closer to nature with its strong current flowing down the canal. Children in particular will be thrilled with the three fountains, the slides, heated pool and water canons. There’s also fun to be had besides the splashing; take your pick of crafting, table football, clowns, bike tours and many many other activities. Pool open starting May 21st.

Good for: entertaining your kids in and out of the pool

Erliefnis Baggerweier

Just wild enough, the commune of Remerschen has spruced up their lake to provide a gorgeous swimming spot. Enjoy the freedom and feel of swimming in the great outdoors, but with the added bonuses of a cafe, changing facilities and even a life-guard. Open from May 1st to September 15.

Good for: Swimming with nature in safety and comfort.

StausĂ©i Uewersauer: Upper-SĂ»re Lake (Insenborn)

Just by the Belgian border, this beautiful nature reserve with its lake, covers four communes and provides 70% of Luxembourg’s drinking water. As well as the purest water to swim in, there’s the opportunity to take a solar-powered boat and explore the whole place in an ecological way. For a fabulous day out, take one of the many beautiful nature trails and finish up with the water-sport of your choice.

 Hesper Beach Club (Hesperange)

A small outdoor pool with a sand pit and beach volley ball court. There is ice cream and alcoholic and soft drinks for sale on the premises. The pool situated in the Hesperange Municipal Park has showers and is free! For the residents of Hesperange only so make friends with someone who lives in Hesperange and demand they take you to da’ club. 

Good for: pretending you’re in Malibu

Dudelange Outdoor Pool

Kick back at this outdoor pool complex in Dudelange surrounded by the trees. The facilities include heated pools, slides, a beach volleyball court, a diving board, a children’s pool, and a large lawn play area. There are places to soak up the sun or take in some shade along the perimeter.

Good for: a small oasis

Grevenmacher Outdoor Pool

Heated open-air swimming pool with children’s area and water slide. There are also fitness classes and swimming lessons for children and adults.
