Where to Eat on Sunday
If you hate cooking on Sundays, you're in good company. Here's a list of our favourite places to hit up for a Sunday meal out!

Le Grand Café
Right in the city center- have we mentioned that this place is open 7 days a week from 11am-10pm! Jet-lagged friends in town? Head into the city on Sunday at any point and fill their bellies. At Le Grand Café you can find menu items such as Carpaccio, burgers, salads, fish, and a delicious selection of desserts. For a full look at their menu, click here.
Batucada
This Brazilian restaurant is open on Sundays from 11:30am-10pm, and you can expect to find traditional Brazilian and South American dishes such as empanadas, moqueca, and a wide variety of meat that will leave wanting to take a trip across the ocean! Mr. Wok
At Mr. Wok you can find an entire bar of raw seafood, beef and vegetables that you can creatively put together and then hand over to the masters to whip into something gorgeous. Every family member will be pleased, whether they like traditional Chinese dishes, like to spice things up, or prefer their mixed wok served with chicken nuggets- they got it all. Mr. Wok is open on Sundays from 11:30am-2pm and again from 6pm-11pm. Bonus tips: They offer free delivery in Luxembourg City every day from 11:30am-2pm, and if you decide to eat here on your birthday, you can get a free glass of champagne!
Bosso
The great thing about this place is that if the weather is decent, you can have a lovely stroll around the Grund, and reward yourself with a reasonably priced meal on the terrace after you’ve walked up an appetite! If you like food from the Alsatian region, especially Flammekuchen, then this is an excellent choice as they are both German portion sized and delicious!
With starters between 4 and 10 Euro, flammekuchen for around 10 Euro and meat mains around 15 Euro, you can eat without breaking the bank. On Sundays, Bosso is open from noon to midnight and reservations are recommended.
Bella Napoli
This place is always lively, often loud (feeling less like Luxembourg in a good way) and has truly delicious food. This is one of the few places to get an authentic calzone in Luxembourg, as they are one of the oldest pizzerias in the country, and they are the oldest in Luxembourg City!
You can try one of the famous calzones on Sundays during their opening hours, which are from 12pm-2pm and again from 6pm-10pm. For a full look at their menu, click here.
Partigiano
Another option for Italian food that we absolutely love is Partigiano. For us the pizzas are the go-to item on the menu, but there are plenty of other options to choose from. The decor is gorgeous, the multi-lingual staff is always super friendly and the cocktails are fab. They’re open every day from 10am-1am. Reservations are definitely recommended.
Restaurant Tibet
Indian restaurants in town generally open their doors on Sundays- and for this we are grateful. This spot takes us to another world and also makes our list for not feeling a lot like Luxembourg on a Sunday.
Restaurant Tibet offers authentic Tibetan and Nepalese dishes such as tandoori, prawns, fish, grilled vegetables, and a good selection of Indian beer and wine which you can’t find anywhere else! For a full look into the menu and hours of operation, click here.
Restaurant Tibet is located in Limpertsberg and is open on Sundays from 11:30am-2pm for lunch and from 5pm-9:30pm for dinner.
Taverne Yamas
What’s not to love about a noisy Greek restaurant in Bonnevoie? The service isn’t fussy, the dishes are large, and you are sure to feel like you are in Greece with the lovely restaurant interior. Here, you can find traditional Mediterranean dishes that will make you want to book a trip to the Greek islands for your next holiday break.

ELA Greek Cuisine
We love hitting up ELA Greek Cuisine for a lazy long Sunday lunch with friends. The food is so delicious; as we are creatures of habit, we normally order lots of small plates to share. Our favourite dishes include the grill halloumi from Cyrus, the spanokopita and the falafel. We prefer vegetarian dishes, but if you’re a meat eater there is plenty to choose from as well. You can see the full menu here. They serve food non-stop and are open from 11:30am- 9pm on Sunday!
Ikki
Let’s face it- Clausen is not known for being quiet, so we hope you’ve been able to get a nap somewhere in between Saturday night and Sunday lunch, as Ikki’s doors are very much open on Sundays. This is a great place to ease into Sunday with a drink on the first floor and then move to the trendy restaurant.
The menu includes both traditional international dishes and a great sushi choices. You can check this place out for Sunday brunch from 12pm-3pm, or you can have dinner with a few drinks here from 5pm-11pm!
Mama Shelter
Mama Shelter makes the list as it’s one of our favourite Sunday brunch spots in Luxembourg. At this location, you can enjoy a wide variety of foods such as pancakes, waffles, eggs, croissants, fruit, and sometimes they even fire up the pizza oven. There is also a large selection of hot and cold drinks on offer! If you bring the kids they can keep themselves busy with table tennis, foosball and free arcade games. You can dine inside for brunch on Sunday’s from 12:30pm to 4pm, but only after showing the staff your COVID health pass and making a reservation online prior to dining in. They are also open for dinner on Sundays from 7pm to 11pm with a ‘Super Sunday’ offer for only 19 EUR.
Coyote Cafe
Another option with non-stop service on Sunday! Coyote Cafe is a fairly new addition to the Belval/University Area. This is a great pick for relaxed Sunday meal. The menu is packed with nachos, burgers, salads and more. There are plenty of vegetarian options and it’s great for families and young people searching for some Sunday cocktails. They’re open from 11:30am-midnight.

Le Bistrot– Naturally this one is open as it is a hotel. An added benefit is that the atmosphere is that of a real Parisian brasserie which offers traditional French, Luxembourgish, and Italian cuisine. If the weather is nice, be sure to take advantage of the beautiful terrace, as you are basically sitting in the park.
Taj Mahal – Another one we love when you need to get your tandoori on.
La Veranda – After 25 years, this lovely French Italian restaurant knows what they are doing and conveniently located in Howald.
Brasserie Côté Cour – Who doesn’t love a fairy-tale meal at the Château de Bourglinster? If you plan to go on a Sunday, reservations are required.
Pavillon Desom – Worth the drive to Remich, this spot offers a wonderful selection of fine wines and a select menu with a not-too-shabby view of the Moselle river.
Mamacita – If you’re looking to spice up your Sunday, this is our pick! On Sundays they offer an amazing brunch deal where you can get some good hangover food as well as bottomless margaritas and mimosas!
